There is a new World Championship for the Pool Billiard sports: the Team Championship in Pool Billiard. Venue is Hannover. From January 30 to February 7, 2010 more than 250 professionals from about 50 nations will be playing for 400,000 USD in prize money. Gre Leenders, President of the European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF) based in the Netherlands, took the lead of the tournament management. The World Pool Association (WPA) officially supports the new tournament format and has already called on the international associations to participate in this event. The initiative for this event came from Hannover. The members of the Billiard scene from the sports club Hannover 96 managed to settle the first edition of this official Team Championship in the capital city of Lower Saxony. The organizer is Mike Neubert with his company Basevents Europe Ltd.

From January 30 until February 7, 2010, the exhibition „Myth Harley-Davidson“ is held within the ABF - The Recreation and Shopping Exhibition on the exhibition grounds in Hannover.

From January 30th to February 7th 2010, the gaze of billiard fans from across the globe will be directed at the Hannover exhibition center where, for the first time ever, the international World Team Championship in billiards are being staged.
