Hannover, 17 September 2026 With the regional competition ‘Die Gute Form’, the trade fair will become a showcase for exceptional design, precision craftsmanship and innovative ideas from Saturday 10 October to Sunday 18 October 2026. Carpentry up close
For over 20 years, the Tischler Nord stand has been a real crowd-puller at this popular consumer fair. Across a good 400 square metres of exhibition space, the creative journeyman’s pieces from the Lower Saxony and Bremen guilds transform the stand into a real eye-catcher. Here, visitors can marvel at creative furniture to their heart’s content, discovering fine details and new materials.
A highlight awaits guests on the second weekend of the fair: Master woodworker Sina Wachau will be working live at the wood lathe on Friday and Saturday, crafting small wooden Christmas trees. These popular, one-of-a-kind pieces can be taken home right away as festive decorations—after all, the cozy holiday season is slowly but surely drawing near.
Which journeyman’s piece is the favourite? The audience gets to vote, too!
Alongside an expert jury, fair visitors and anyone else interested can also have their say in deciding which pieces receive awards: every vote counts for the People’s Choice Award! You can vote easily on the spot at the exhibition stand or conveniently online at www.tischlernord.de.
Voting is open until Saturday 17 October 2026.
Come and experience first-hand at infa just how much passion, innovation and fresh ideas there are in the carpentry trade – it’s well worth a visit!

About the ‘Die Gute Form’ competition
The ‘Die Gute Form’ design competition recognises excellently designed journeyman’s pieces in the carpentry trade. The competition takes place in three stages: it begins at regional guild level, proceeds to the state final and culminates in the grand national final.
At each stage, an independent jury of experts selects the pieces that progress to the next round.
The highlight is the national final, where the state winners’ journeyman’s pieces are exhibited to great public acclaim. Traditionally, this national exhibition takes place alternately each year at the world’s leading trade fair, LIGNA, in Hanover, or at the International Craft Fair (IHM) in Munich. The upcoming LIGNA will once again open its doors at the Hanover Exhibition Centre from 10 to 14 May 2027.
