Friesische Wollweberei is the only wool weaving mill in northern Germany that weaves, finishes and makes up - all under one roof. And it is the first wool weaving mill to be founded in Germany in 50 years. Here in Zetel, a small town in Friesland with a great weaving tradition, wonderful wool products have been produced under the Coastland brand since 2021. Today, 15 specialists work with pure new wool in the small manufactory and produce cozy, soft woolen blankets and supple scarves.
The founders of Friesische Wollweberei are keen to preserve this cultural treasure in order to preserve and revive the knowledge and skills associated with wool production. That is why they open their manufactory to the public every day. They provide a full insight into the production process, from the raw material to the finished product. This makes it possible to experience and understand how high-quality and durable products are created from wool, a natural material.
