70 years - infa celebrates a milestone birthday
70 years of innovative products from all areas of everyday life, 70 years of information and advice, 70 years of show and infotainment. infa, Germany's most beautiful experience and shopping fair, is celebrating a milestone birthday this year from 12 to 20 October at the exhibition grounds in Hannover.

Klaudia Kohl, responsible for the consumer shows at Deutsche Messe AG: ‘In its 70th year, infa is once again clearly characterised by its diversity. Where else can you find such a wide range of products, where else can you have such a great day out where nothing is missing? Whether fashion, furniture, cosmetics or culinary delights - you can find everything at infa, including plenty of entertainment and infotainment in all halls.’
Of course, there will also be celebrations to mark the 70th anniversary. For example, at the anniversary bingo with Michael Thürnau. The popular NDR presenter will be hosting the popular game of chance on three days in a specially designated bingo area, with high-quality prizes to be won this year.
And on 19 October, the ‘infa Funky Beats’ will thunder across the exhibition grounds. From 18:30, ‘MAX AND FRIENDS’ will take to the stage and promise rousing grooves, unique vocal power and a colourful bouquet of well-known and popular party hits (separate party ticket required).
The birthday activities also include an interactive photo exhibition in Hall 22. Numerous large-format photos show the history of infa through the ages - selfie fun guaranteed.
Those who have already celebrated their 70th birthday this year or will be turning 70 can look forward to a special treat. Klaudia Kohl: ‘We're giving free entry to anyone born in 1954. All you have to do is show your valid ID card at the cash desk and you can visit infa for free.’
infa, then still called the ‘Niedersächsische Hauswirtschaftliche Landesausstellung’, celebrated its premiere from 5 to 12 September 1954 in the Stadthalle on Schackstraße. In 1957, it was renamed the ‘Hausfrauen Ausstellung’ with the addition ‘Informations- und Verkaufsausstellung für die Familie’, which finally became infa in 1973. One year later, infa moved from the Stadthalle to the exhibition centre to take advantage of weatherproof exhibition halls, over 50,000 parking spaces and excellent transport links.
Since then, infa has continued to develop and is now one of the most successful consumer trade fairs in Germany with a total of 7 exhibition halls and a food truck mile on the open-air site.
